The origin

The $60M Google deal
that changed everything

MentionTrack began inside a growth agency doing something unusual — acting as community voices for brands on Reddit, helping them gain authentic presence and driving SEO lift for target keywords. It worked quietly for years.

Then in early 2025, Google began rolling out AI Overviews. Suddenly, something no one else was talking about became obvious: Reddit was showing up everywhere in AI-generated answers. Clients who had been active on Reddit were getting cited — their brand conversations were shaping what AI told potential customers.

The team ran the experiments manually. They tracked mentions, crafted community responses, and watched as clients appeared in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode within days. The results were undeniable.

The reporting tool became a workflow tool. The workflow tool became a platform. And when Google announced its $60M annual licensing deal with Reddit — confirming in public what our team had already proven in the field — the market signal was impossible to ignore.

2022–24

The agency model proves it out

Our team begins running Reddit community programs for brands — authentic engagement at scale, driving measurable SEO and SERP lift for clients including major global agency brands.

Early 2025

Google AI Overviews change the game

Reddit content starts appearing in AI-generated search results. Datawyze clients with active Reddit presence begin getting cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode. The team gets clients listed in LLM responses in under a week.

Late 2025

MentionTrack launches as a managed service

The first version of MentionTrack runs as a hybrid operation — part human analyst, part custom tech stack. Our team manually monitors, tags, and reports on Reddit mentions for clients including World.org (Tools for Humanity — Alex Blania, CEO; Sam Altman, Chairman) and Logical Intelligence (Yann LeCun). The workflow is painfully manual, but the results prove the thesis.

Semrush confirms the thesis

A Semrush study of 325,000 prompts confirms Reddit is the #1 most-cited domain across all major AI platforms — ahead of Wikipedia, YouTube, and every major news outlet. The MentionTrack bet is validated by the largest independent AI citation study to date.
